emporia Emergency

Is the emergency call function the same on all emporia devices?

No. Although the principle behind the emporia emergency call function is the same on all devices, there are a few technical differences. Therefore, please read not only the information in this chapter, but also the information about the product group to which your device belongs.

What exactly happens when the emergency call button is pressed?

When you press the button on the back of the phone for three seconds, the emergency call sequence starts with the following steps:
- Warning tone
- Emergency call message
- Call to the stored emergency call contacts
- Confirmation or callback by the emergency call contact
- (Transmission of coordinates if technically possible)

This process varies depending on the technical specifications of your emporia device. Please refer to the chapter on the product group to which your device belongs for detailed information.

What is the emergency call and what are the most important steps?

The emporia phone has an emergency call function that you can customise to your individual needs. The emergency call button on the back of the device allows you to quickly call for help from trusted individuals in an emergency.

• If there are two battery covers: use the battery cover with the recess for the emergency call button.
• Save your personal emergency contacts.
• The emergency call button is activated by default. If you do not wish to use the emporia emergency call function, deactivate it.

What needs to be considered with regard to emergency services?

• If you wish to set emergency services and official institutions (such as ambulance, police, fire brigade, etc.) as emergency contacts, you must clarify this with the respective institution beforehand.

• If no emergency call contact is saved, the credit on your prepaid card is used up or your phone has no reception, pressing the activated button will call the European emergency call number 112. Your call will then go directly to the nearest police station.

Important! No liability is accepted for any costs incurred if you accidentally call this number.

What must the recipient of the emergency call do?

The recipient of the emergency call, i.e. the person you have saved as your emergency contact, must interrupt the emergency call flow. How this is done varies depending on the technical specifications of your emporia device. Please refer to the chapter on the product group to which your device belongs for detailed information.
