All emporia models are equipped with an emergency call button. This is located on the back and blends discreetly into the overall design. If you do not wish to use the emergency call function, you can deactivate it.
The key tones are preset. However, you can change the tone and volume at any time to suit your preferences. To do this, go to SETTINGS in the menu. Under "Sounds and Signals," you will find the key tone settings. Select your preferred key tone or mute the sounds.
Phone numbers and names can be stored either in the phone's memory or on the SIM card. If the contacts are stored in the phone's memory, they must be copied to the SIM card when changing phones. When the SIM card is inserted into the new phone, the contacts can be transferred to its phonebook memory. If you change SIM cards (due to a tariff or provider change), all contacts must be transferred to the phonebook memory. We recommend keeping a separate contact list (phone log) to ensure you have access to your contacts even if your phone is lost.
Is your smartphone no longer charging? If you're lucky, this can be fixed without a repair. Remove dirt: A common cause of battery charging problems is dust and other debris accumulating in the charging port. "No problem. I'll just take a toothpick and..." – Wait a minute! Poking around in the port with sharp objects should only be a last resort. It's gentler to simply blow into the port. Or, if that's not enough, carefully use compressed air. You can also try a small, soft brush. Charging cable: Is the problem really with the charging port? Just to be sure, try a different USB cable or replace the power adapter. We recommend always using original emporia accessories. Charging cradle: A suitable charging cradle is available for most emporia devices. This also provides added convenience. Our webshop or hotline can help you with this.
Check your settings: On a smartphone, background functions can drain the battery. Take a look at your smartphone's quick settings: GPS, Bluetooth, NFC... which of these do you actually use, and which can be deactivated? What's the phone signal strength like where you are? If the phone is constantly searching for or switching networks, it's constantly consuming power. Also, check which apps are open and close them occasionally. It's also a good idea to restart the device from time to time. Replace the battery: On most smartphones, it's possible to replace a worn-out battery with a new one. Remove the battery cover and take out the battery. (For the emporia E6 and emporiaSMART.5, this can be done by a specialist retailer.) Defective batteries are usually slightly swollen and should no longer be used. You can buy a replacement battery cheaply at a specialist retailer or in our webshop. No, using the Emporia app does not incur any additional costs beyond standard internet charges. The app itself is free and does not cause any further fees.
Emporia devices use either 2G or 4G/5G networks, so all emporia devices will remain fully functional even after the 3G shutdown. The only exception is Switzerland, as there is no longer a 2G network there.
